ADB Japan Scholarship Program 2024/25

The ADB-Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) offers about 135 graduate scholarships a year for studies in economics, business and management, science and technology, and other development-related fields. The program is open to nationals of an ADB borrowing member country who have gained admission to an approved master’s A course at a designated institution.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The applicant must be a national of an ADB borrowing member country and a Japanese ODA scholarship-eligible country.
• The applicant must not hold dual citizenship in any developing country.
• The applicant must have gained admission to an approved master’s A course at a designated institution.
• Applicants should not be more than 35 years old and must be in good health.
• Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with superior academic record.
• The applicant should agree to return to his/her home country after completion of studies under the Program to contribute to its development.

Application Process:

• Interested candidates must request information and application forms from the chosen partner institution.
• Candidates must send the documents to the institution.
• Shortlisted candidates' lists are forwarded to ADB, who then selects the candidates.

Value of the Scholarship:

• The selected candidates are awarded the following benefits:
  • Full tuition fees,
  • Monthly subsistence allowance (including housing),
  • Books and instructional materials,
  • Medical insurance,
  • Travel expenses
