Postdoctoral scholars conducting advanced research in the core areas of fundamental chemistry or the design and construction of chemical instruments are supported by the Arnold O. Beckman Postdoctoral Fellowship in Chemical Sciences or Chemical Instruments Award Program.
Eligibility for Arnold O Beckman Postdoctoral Fellowships:
- The applicant must have a 501(c)(3) IRS designation or an equivalent qualification and be enrolled in a U.S. college, university, or other organization that grants postdoctoral fellowships.
- The candidate has to be a citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States.
- The candidate must be a current graduate student who plans to finish their PhD in the chemical sciences by May 1, 2026, or a current postdoctoral researcher who has had their PhD in the chemical sciences awarded or conferred and has no more than eighteen months of total postdoctoral research experience (as of the application deadline).
- The applicant has to work for postdoctoral training in a chemical science field. Applications relating to bio will be taken into consideration, but the fellowship is not meant to support projects that are funded by conventional biochemical or biological science mechanisms (such as those funded by the National Institutes of Health). To support their postdoctoral research proposal, candidates must have identified a mentor in the chemical sciences at a qualifying nonprofit college, university, or other institution in the United States.
