    The Charles Bullard fellowship program supports advanced research and study by individuals who show promise of making an important contribution, either as scholars or administrators, to forestry and forest-related subjects including biology, earth sciences, economics, politics, administration, philosophy, humanities, the arts, or the law.

    Eligibility for Harvard University - Charles Bullard Forest Research Fellowships in the US:

    • Applicants may come from any nationality.
    • Applicants must have established themselves in academia, public service, or in the private sector.
    • Applicants must have received their degrees at least two years before applying.
    • Applicants must have published a monograph or at least two (humanities and social sciences) or five (STEM) articles in refereed journals or edited collections. 
    • Applicants from outside academia must demonstrate leadership in their field and propose a project that shows promise of making important contributions to forest studies.

    Application Process:

    All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship. The application should include the following components:

    • Contact information for 3 references,
    • A statement of research,
    • CV (max. 5 pages).

    Value of Harvard University - Charles Bullard Forest Research Fellowships in the US:

    • The successful applicants of Harvard University - Charles Bullard Forest Research Fellowships in the US, 2024 will receive:
      • A Stipend of up to $75,000.
      • One-round trip travel to and from home country.
    • For International Fellows:
      • Visas (up to $1,500 per person),
      • Health insurance ($300 to $500 per month for a single person and $1000 to $3000 per month for a family of 4 based in Petersham),
      • Travel to the United States for their families.
