Dissertation Fieldwork Grant 2025

Wenner-Gren Foundation is offering Dissertation Fieldwork Grants to provide support for doctoral or research thesis. This grant program provides funding for research leading to doctorates or theses that increase understanding of anthropology. To advance the understanding of what it means to be human, The aim is to promote dynamic and important work. Any approach, study site, subject, or subfield is acceptable.

Eligibility Criteria for the Dissertation Fieldwork Grant :

• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a doctoral program.
• Applicants may come from any nationality.
• Applicants must have a dissertation supervisor from the same institution.
• Applicants must fulfill all the doctoral degree requirements to receive the grant.

Documents Required for the Dissertation Fieldwork Grants :

• Applicants are required to submit their CV.
• General information about the applicant, supervisor, and the project must be submitted.
• Applicants must submit an abstract of their proposed research.
• Applicants are required to submit a detailed budget entailing the best and worst possible scenarios for their research plan.
• A bibliography relevant to their proposed project must be submitted.
• A resubmission statement if we declined a Dissertation Fieldwork Grant application you submitted previously.
• Answers to six questions about the project.

Value of the Grant:

The successful candidates are awarded a grant of up to USD 25,000.
