Sports Scholarship at Geelong Grammar School
Geelong Grammar School offers Sports Scholarships for new students entering Years 10 or 11, providing financial assistance to those who have a strong athletic background but could not otherwise attend the school without support.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Sports Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be entering Years 10 or 11.
• Be Australian or New Zealand citizens, or hold an Australian Permanent Residence Visa.
• Have strong abilities in specific sports, with a focus on state or national-level competition.
• Demonstrate eagerness to participate in the wide range of opportunities at Geelong Grammar and uphold the school’s philosophy and rules.

Sports Offered

The following sports are included in the scholarship program, with major sports indicated by an asterisk:

Summer:

• Female: Touch Football*, Cricket*, Swimming, Tennis.
• Male and Female: Badminton, Rowing.
• Male: Cricket, Tennis.

Winter:

• Female: Netball*, Football (AFL), Hockey.
• Male: Soccer*, Rugby Union.

Spring:

• Female and Male: Athletics*, Water Polo.
• Requirements for Awardees: Students awarded the Sports Scholarship are expected to complete three seasons of sport during the year, two of which must be in a major sport.

Scholarship Benefits

• The Sports Scholarship covers up to 100% of day or boarding fees at Geelong Grammar School.
• However, it does not cover additional costs such as uniforms, private vocal or instrumental lessons, textbooks, excursions, sundry charges, or other personal items.

• Applicants must complete a financial assessment form as part of the application process.
• This will be used to determine eligibility for the scholarship and the level of assistance provided.
