Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships (Postgraduate) at Newcastle University 2025

With pleasure, Newcastle University offers 39 Vice-Chancellor's Excellence Scholarships (VCES) to deserving international candidates wishing to begin full-time Master's study in an eligible program.

Eligibility for Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships (VCES) - Postgraduate:

For 50% Scholarship:

• The applicant must reside in one of the following nations:
  • Canada, USA, 
  • China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea
  • Colombia, Peru
  • Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Turkey
  • Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
  • Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam
• The applicant must identify as an international student for fee-paying purposes.
• The applicant must hold an offer of admission to an eligible Master's program at the University of Newcastle city center campus (2025/26 academic year).
• The applicant must already possess, or anticipate obtaining, the equivalent of a UK honors degree (at least upper second class).

For 100% Scholarship:

• The applicant must be a resident of Ghana or Nigeria.
• The applicant must identify as an international student for fee-paying purposes.
• The applicant must hold an offer of admission to an eligible Master's program at the University of Newcastle city center campus (2025/26 academic year).
• The applicant must already possess, or anticipate obtaining, the equivalent of a UK honors degree (at least upper second class).

Applications must be submitted on the Apply to Newcastle Portal under the ‘scholarship applications’ section. 

Value of the Scholarship:

The successful candidates are awarded either 50% or 100% of tuition fees.
